Welcome to BC Technology Solutions, a Sole-Propieter Consulting firm that provides data conversion services and system archival services for enterprise-wide system implementations for any sized company. In December 2011, we (I utilized a Sub-Contractor for this project) completed a six and a half year contract providing data conversion services for a large U.S. healthcare organization centralizing its enterprise by combining 18 inpatient facilities, and over 300 outpatient clinics and facilities; this system implementation's conversion requirement was one of the largest healthcare data conversions in the United States. During our time on this project, we received numerous comments on their satisfaction with our technical work, our ability to partner with the business, and our attention to detail.
Our capabilities included the performance of data conversions in the fields of General Leger, ERP/HR/Payroll, Materials Management, Master Patient Index, Patient Visit History, Lab Results, Allergens, Patient Accounting/Billing, AR/Bad Debit, Radiology Results, Clinician Charting (Chart Notes), Transcriptions, Medication History, Immunization History, Patient Problem Lists, and Patient Vitals. We have the ability to provide extractions from many of the healthcare industry's leading legacy systems, the ability to provide custom coding of parsing utilities that apply customer-defined requirements for each dataset, leadership abilities to assist customers with mapping requirements, ability to provide automation of reporting on errors and mapping issues, risk analysis, and overall reporting on status' of the conversions.
We have converted data from/to the following systems: Epic, Lawson, McKesson, Cerner, Pace, Meditech, GE Centricity (IDX), Keane, Misys Vision/EMR, CPSI, MedGenix, GSI, and Ultipro HR. At the beginning of our involvement in the above-mentioned healthcare organization's data conversion activities, we had experience in less than half of these applications/databases; we were able to learn the report writing tools or use our own database access tools to retrieve the conversion data within the required timeframe, successfully and accurately.
While contracted to the healthcare system, we automated many manual interfaces, and provided solutions for onboarding of newly acquired facilities including automating GL Journal Detail transactions into the enterprise Accounting System Lawson. Many of these interfaces have been in trouble-free operation for over four years, and some are still in operation today.
We also were successful in beginning the effort of archiving displaced EHR systems, by partnering with Legal/Compliance, HIM, Clinicians and IT, to gain rock-solid specifications of what was legally required to retain from the legacy system (we had to quantify what 'everything' meant); at the term of our contract we had sign-off from all parties to turn off the first EHR we archived, generating several millions of dollars in cost-avoidance of vendor maintenance fees alone over the timeframe that the system would have had to run to meet data retention requirements (the savings amount did not include OS/Database licensing/fees, hardware maintenance fees, personel costs, or other operational costs, only vendor maintenance).
Feel free to browse around the site and get a further understanding of our technical capabilities; after all, we ARE converting the worlds data, one record at a time.
